Infinite Jest, written by David Foster Wallace, published in the Year of 1996, and often recognized to be David Foster Wallace's magnum opus, his greatest work.
Assuming you've read Infinite Jest, then I'm absolutely certain that you know of its status as an encyclopedia of lexical innovation, avant-garde in almost every aspect, and yet highly entertaining. Brimming with moments of confusion and entertainment, in a thousand page novel, containing vocabulary that you'd never sight outside the boundaries of a dictionary. In spite of all this, Infinite Jest still retains the standard procedure of any novel, wherein characters are introduced, and a story unfolds. Within the digital folds of this blog, I'll be examining the standard components of any novel, which Infinite Jest still possesses; meaning characters, the plot, and the themes of said novel. I do dearly hope you enjoy this, else your experience may be reminiscent of something like War and Peace. |
